One of the largest challenges of making vaping products that deliver a comparable level of satisfaction to traditional tobacco products is the limit on how high the nicotine concentration of an e-liquid can be.
Maximum Nicotine Concentration Regulations
As part of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act, often abbreviated as the TVPA, the Canadian government put in place regulations on the level of nicotine concentration allowed in vaping products.
Vaping products that are manufactured or imported for sale in Canada must contain no more than 20 mg/mL of nicotine concentration. The regulation also prohibits the use of any packaging that displays a nicotine strength that exceeds 20 mg/mL.
Formulated for a High Nicotine Feel
To remain in compliance with the TVPA nicotine concentration regulations and still provide a strong nicotine experience, we developed our STLTH Bold variations.
Instead of a product that has 35 mg or 50 mg of nicotine, our Bold line simply provides a comparable experience to those levels while still remaining within the government’s guidelines for nicotine concentration at 20 mg/mL.
The difference between our regular 20 mg/mL nicotine STLTH pods and our Bold 35 and Bold 50 options is the amount of acid used in the nicotine salt formulation. When less acid is used, there is less of a reaction with the nicotine which results in a higher pH level.
This adjusted pH mimics that of higher nicotine levels without pushing the concentration beyond the allowed maximum.
